Consultancy

The Institute's consultancy service offers an integrated systems approach to management problems. While making available to the client the services of individual faculty members, the total consultany package is the work of a faculty team with expertise in the various areas of management. The consultancy service of the Institute addresses management and organisational problems of industry and government, and covers such areas as finance, production, plant engineering, systems, marketing, HRD, industrial relations, strategic management, and organisational development.

Assignments ongoing from previous year (2013 - 2014)

  1. Disaster management Plan for State, District and Panchayat level (Gov. of Goa)
    • Faculty involved are Prof. Prabir Bandhopadhyay & Prof. Jaideep Gupte
    • Awarded in April 2010. It is a successful continuous activity. The scope has now been broadened. New areas have been added to be integrated with this plan.
    • State level plan has been completed. It is awaiting Final approval from National Disaster Management Authority (India). The plan for Two Panchayats and the North Goa District Plan have been completed, approved and uploaded in the NG Website. Currently work for two more Panchayats and the preparation of Disaster Management Plan for Livestock is going on as per the new Guidelines of the National Disaster Management Authority.
  2. Study on Real-Estate Market of Goa ( awarded by Mahadan Real Estate)
    • Faculty involved are Prof. Jagrook Dawra & Prof. Kanupriya Katyal.
    • Awarded in May 2013
    • The Final Report submitted May 2014
  3. Improving the productivity of the hospitality division of International Centre Goa, International Centre Goa 
    • Faculty involved are Prof. Pravat Surya Kar & Prof Amiya Sahu

  4. The Government of India has provided a two year grant to the Entrepreneurship Cell of GIM to generate ideas for developing an entrepreneurship development program

Institutional

  1. Conducting National Family Health Survey round -4  (NFHS-4) in the states/region of Goa, Uttar Pradesh (East), Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh awarded by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India through International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai.

This is country’s most prestigious health survey covering rural and urban areas of all the States and Union Territories. Under this survey, data pertaining to Reproductive and Child Health, Maternal Health, Adolescent Health, Domestic Violence, Gender Equity,  Health services delivery and distribution, health seeking behaviour of people, knowledge and practices towards health services and disease are being sought besides prevalence of Anemia, Hypertension, HIV, Nutritional status and use of Iodized salt. In the first phase GIM is covering Goa and UP (east) and in second phase (which will start from Jan 2015) J&K and Himachal Pradesh would be covered.

    •  Faculty involved are Dr. Adesh Chaturvedi  (Nodal Person) and Dr. Ajit Parulekar (However, Team HCM including all the faculty and support staff are also extending their support)
