Director's Message

"The Learning Never Stops at GIM" is the underlying belief on which all processes and activities are organised. We aim to create responsive and responsible leaders with knowledge, skills and creativity to manage enterprises.

This year we have introduced a Two Year full time PGDM Programme in Big Data Analytics. One of the earliest management programme in the country focussed on exciting field of Big Data with an aim to create Data Literate Managers for tomorrow's needs. We believe that the technology skills while important diminish in utility as the time passes as the tools become more and more capable and intelligence built in the software processes. However, the need for managers with command over fundamentals of data science will only keep rising as more and more decisions and more importantly business insights will be data driven rather than intuition based. The feedback of first batch students of Big Data Analytics has been very encouraging and we look forward to the programme carving out a niche for itself .

We had introduced PGDM-Healthcare Management into 2013 when we set out to build Asia's Best Comprehensive Healthcare Management Programme with emphasis on various facets of healthcare management. In the span of five years 4 batches of students have passed out and the programme has begun to make an impact. Today it is arguably the best healthcare management programme in the country and is growing from strength to strength. All the three batches witnessed 100% placement with excellent response from the employers about the talent of the pass outs. The most recent pass out batch had an average salary of Rs. 9.5 lacs and a highest of Rs. 16 lacs. The fact that our students are contributing to fulfilling a priority need in healthcare sector is of course, more satisfying.

The flagship PGDM programme builds on long years' excellence in management education nurturing business leaders with personal integrity, social responsibility and global outlook. Our students get a thorough understanding of Indian Business Reality and a deep International perspective. Our International Linkages reflect this perspective and provide an opportunity for the student to hone their skills in the International settings. We are now in the midst of our 25th year celebration and students have the benefit of participating in a host of exciting activities to commemorate Silver Jubilee of the Institute.

The National recognitions (NBA Accreditation, AIU equivalence to MBA) were earned by us in the course of our journey and we are well ahead in our journey of earning international recognitions. Our SAQS accreditation is in advanced stage and we have conceptualised and commenced implementation of assurance of learning as part of process of AACSB accreditation. Our Social Sensitivity Project ‘Give Goa' has become an integral part of working and learning. The students find ‘Give Goa' a unique contribution and learn-by-doing opportunity.

Recently Govt. of India has selected our Institute as one of the 13 management institutes for the award of Atal Incubation Centre out of 3648 applicants, endorsing the standing strength of GIM in creating potential entrepreneurs. This effort shall be in tandem with our Centre for Entrepreneurship Development facilitating our students, alumni and larger community in furthering their nascent business ideas. The Centre for Creativity, Innovation and Design Thinking has added fora, such as "inDialogue" to interact with and assist existing entrepreneurs. We continue to attract students from diverse backgrounds from various parts of our country facilitating learning by peer interaction.

I welcome students joining 2019-2021 batch and trust that you will have a fruitful and enjoyable two years as well as leave your mark on the Institute.
